Charles Street filling next to Beacon Hill begins.
1803
The Mount Vernon Proprietors cut down Mount Vernon some 50 or 60 feet and use the gravel to create Charles Street from Beacon Street to Pinckney Street. Charles Bulfinch and the Proprietors of the West Boston Bridge fill the flats north of that, creating Charles Street from Pinckney Street to Cambridge Street between 1807 and 1809.
